What makes this book different?
School’s Out, Learning’s In is written primarily for parents and caretakers to support home learning when school is out. Educators will also appreciate the insights and guidance and may be able to use the book as a resource when supporting parents. The book shares some of the best ways to enhance young children’s learning (particularly for children aged 3-12-years-old).
As Arthur Schopenhauer once said, “Buying books would be a good thing if one could also buy the time to read them in; but as a rule, the purchase of books is mistaken for the appropriation of their contents.”
With that in mind, School’s Out, Learning’s In has several features to help navigate the book, including:
- A short, concise guide for using the Learning Pit
- A description and insights into using the various strategies that are included in the activities
- Suggested questions and question stems to support dialogue
